The Young Turks

So, I was on YouTube today, watching The Young Turks. They uploaded a video today about how the author of 'The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven' lied about the whole thing. Turns out the author admitted to the lie. So... yea, it was a stupid move that created a lot of public criticism. But what concerned me was not so much the video itself, but the people commenting below. I myself am not religious; however, I strongly disagree with the people who were commenting as they rudely stated that religion was a lie and Christians were stupid if they believed in that book. This just made me so angry you see because I don't believe anyone's beliefs should be disrespected. People are entitled to their own beliefs. If someone wants to be religious, you let them be. It ISN'T any of YOUR business what others want to believe in. Now I did comment on that video and I pretty much told people they were being disrespectful. Some people replied to me, trying to convince me that religion was bad and a lie. I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. What kind of humanity is this, why can't anyone just see we are all people. Yes, some Christians believe being gay is bad. But NOT every Christian is like that. Yes, there are a lot of religious conflicts, but there sure are a hell lot of other problems in this world too. Yes people abuse their religious power, but if you put it that way, everyone with power uses it wrongly once in a while, even if people don't realize it. People just need to learn to have some respect. Just cause you don't believe in something doesn't mean you have to be rude about it. No one says you have to believe, all you have to do is accept that it exists and leave it alone. People are just people.Why can't humans just open their eyes for a second and realize we are ALL THE SAME. Doesn't matter if you're religious, gay, straight, a girl, a boy, transgender, celebrity, homeless, you're a freaking person just like everyone else. Don't go around bashing each other down. HAVE SOME RESPECT. Instead on focusing on how bad other people are why don't you try to focus on yourselves? Instead of making the human race something people are ASHAMED of why don't we just make it something we are PROUD of? I don't know about the world, but I am so ASHAMED OF THE HUMAN RACE right now.
